The
St. Mary Magdalen bereavement
team ministers to grieving members in our
community who have lost a loved one. Helping
others and accompanying them through their
grief journey is a beautiful gift, requiring
sensitivity, and joy in God’s call to
minister to the pain and hopes of the
grieving.

do bereavement ministers at do? |

Meet
with the family to prepare the funeral
Mass. |

Prepare
the church for the funeral Mass on the
day of the funeral & assist the
family at the funeral Mass. |
| • |
Follow-up
with loved ones of the immediate
family, through telephone calls,
cards, and sometimes, visits. |

Our
bereavement ministers need additional
assistance: |
| • |
From
adult parishioners who are willing to
be trained to be Altar Servers for
weekday morning funerals. |
| • |
From
adult parishioners willing to be
trained to serve as sacristans for
funerals, or willing to help
bereavement ministers set up the
church for funerals (on weekday
mornings). |
