Eucharistic
Ministers
CONTACTS:
Parish
Center at 484-0532
Eucharistic
Ministers are registered parishioners who
are commissioned by the church to assist
in the distribution of Holy Communion in
the absence of sufficient ordinary
ministers. These ministers are baptized,
confirmed, and have been receiving
the Eucharist. The minimum age for a
minister is 18, or a high school senior.
All ministers must demonstrate personal
and spiritual maturity.
Eucharistic
Ministers may also be involved in carrying
Holy Communion to the elderly, the sick
and the hospitalized of the parish, and
those in nursing homes that are under the
care of the parish. Please
see Eucharist Ministers to the Sick.
All
EOM's are interviewed and trained in the
procedures of St. Mary Magdalen Parish.
Is
it difficult for you or someone you love
to come forward to receive Communion?
If
so, we encourage you to let an usher
know, or have someone tell the
Eucharistic Minister that you are there.
The Eucharistic Ministers will be happy
to come to you with Communion. Usually
they will do this after giving Communion
to those who come forward. Sometimes, if
the Eucharistic Minister knows someone
needs Communion brought to them, they
will take care of this first.
We
don't want anyone to be missed at
Communion time. Neither do we want
anyone to feel they have to come forward
in line if it is a hardship or is unsafe
to do so. Please know that we are happy
to come to you.
