Lectors

Although all baptized Christians are proclaimers of the Good News, some are called to do so directly. These are our lectors, parishioners who have responded to the call to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture during the Liturgy of the Word.  

Lectors will be trained and ought to be familiar with the equipment and layout in the sanctuary as well as the prayerful preparations needed prior to proclaiming the sacred readings. Regular training sessions are held throughout the year to afford ministers the opportunity to practice.  Serving in this way implies a personal commitment to the Eucharist which includes weekly attendance at Sunday Mass.

This ministry is open to adults and youth who have celebrated Confirmation, and who are free of any impediments to participating in the sacramental life of the Church.
