CONTACTS:
Preparation
Information and to Schedule: Faith
Formation Office at 482-1219
Children
who have been baptized as infants and
celebrated the sacraments of
Reconciliation and Eucharist should
continue to attend Faith Formation until
they finish High School. Students in
grades 3 through 8 who have not
celebrated First Eucharist may be
prepared by attending Friends and Family
Growing Together.
The
parents of these children will also be
involved in their Faith Formation
process. Parents will attend the
“Family Connections” evening
meetings during the month of October. To
facilitate the sharing of faith
throughout the entire preparation
process, parents will be present at
class sessions with their children twice
each month.
All
of this is done to assure that everyone
will grow together as faith-filled
Catholic Christians who understand both
a personal commitment to Jesus Christ
and a commitment to continued
participation in an active Christian
Community.
In
addition to the time spent in class,
families must plan to attend church
every weekend and participate fully in
the celebration of Mass. All the
children will celebrate Children’s
Liturgy of the Word each Sunday during
Mass. Also, family conversations need to
include talk of growth in faith, love
for God and neighbor, and what it means
to be a Catholic Christian.
Together,
your parish
and your family
prepare these young people to be
faithful Catholic Christians.
*For
information regarding students who have
not been Baptized, or have not
celebrated First Reconciliation and
Eucharist please inquire at the Faith
Formation Center.
