Mass

Dearest Parishioners and Friends,
Please remember that in charity for our brothers and sisters and in following the guidelines of the Archbishop and the county we are required to wear face masks in order to enter into our worship space. If you simply forget one we will gladly provide you with a face mask. Please remember that you will not be able to enter the church without a mask. God bless you and thank you for your diligence.

A Prayer to make Spiritual Communion while watching Mass online

My Jesus, I believe that you are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I long for you in my soul. Since I cannot now receive you Sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though you have already come, I embrace you and unite myself entirely to you; never permit me to be separated from you.

Amen.

"Year of St. Joseph"

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage,
and defend us from every evil.

Amen.

Dearest Parishioners and Friends,

In his Apostolic Letter “Patris Corde” (With a Father’s Heart), the Holy Father has declared from yesterday’s date until December 8, 2021 a “Year of St. Joseph.” We are grateful for this reminder that St. Joseph is the patron saint of the Universal Church as proclaimed by Blessed Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1870. This year marks the 150th anniversary of that proclamation.

In the Apostolic Letter Pope Francis describes Saint Joseph as a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father, a father in the shadows. During this pandemic time it is a comfort for so many to call out for a loving and tender fatherly love such as that love which St. Joseph had for Jesus. As well as a great example and source of strength for the Fathers of our families who in this time, when the family unit is severely challenged, need such a great intercessor.

The Holy Father has also granted a Plenary Indulgence this year for those of the faithful who, under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions), with a spirit detached from any sin, participate in the Year of St. Joseph. It is also granted to those who invoke the intercession of St. Joseph in their daily prayer, those who perform corporal works of mercy emulating the charitable example of St. Joseph, those who pray the Litany of St. Joseph, those who pray the rosary with their families and invoke the intercession of St. Joseph and the Holy Family to guide and protect their families.

Please know that during this year of St. Joseph, the priests of our parish will pray the above prayer for you, our parishioners and your families, during our weekly communal prayer times in the rectory. May the intercession of St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church, bring you closer to Jesus and grant you protection during these challenging times.

St. Joseph, pray for us!
